Over the weekend I went to my parents house in Connecticut to watch the dog while they were away. This is what my Mother's back porch looked like when I got there. A complete blank slate.
For me, this was decorating seventh heaven. Though I only had one night to pull a look together and no budget, I went digging through the basement and attic to find pieces to use. This is what I came up with in the end:
It definitely still needs lots of TLC, but I was amazed at what I could find in the house (and trust me - this is not a cluttered house!) I used some ceramic planters, a forgotten chair and an old wicker love seat hidden underneath a bunch of papers. I even tracked down a rolled up rug that was slightly stained - but the perfect size for the space. If you're itching for a makeover, start looting in your very own home. I guarantee you already have what you need.

* be happy together is good enough. I am not asking for things that I could never get.
